West Hobart U12s vs St Mary's

Practice, practice, practice
The U12 girls had a rusty return to the second round. No practice over the holiday break was obvious as West Hobart lost 0-3 to a well-organised St Mary's team.

The loss was contributed by continued pressure from St Mary's. The game also showed the value of having a big kick at this age.

West Hobart girls worked hard for the entire game with the passing greatly improving in the second half, creating a couple of scoring chances.

The one thing that you can always count on with this team is great character. The game ended and the girls still had plenty of smiles as they enjoyed the game. With this attitude we look forward to continued improvement through the second round.

Under 11 girls back with a win

From Jerry de Gryse
The Girls Under 11s eked out a 3-2 victory victory over Fahan White on first half goals from Alison and Niamh and a second half penalty shot by Grace.

Team play and good execution of the game's basic skills were key to the girl's success with excellent passing, good corner work and strong tackling and marking limiting Fahan's opportunities to mount an attack.

The long second half to the season will present many challenges as we have been moved into an Under 12 competition. Nonetheless there will be plenty of opportunities to hone skills and have fun. Go girls!

Latest roster for Term 2

Thanks to Ross and all those girls who came to training during the holidays. The numbers were down but it didn't matter too much when combined with Jerry's Under 11 squad.

Good luck to the Socceroos this Friday after their thrilling matches so far.

The latest U12 Kookaburra roster's just been posted on the Central Region website, today in fact. You'll notice there are a number of byes because of Collegiate's withdrawal from the roster.
